SPOILER ALERT! This post is so sugar sweet your teeth might fall out.
Though I didn’t really look forward to my birthday, I woke up an hour before my alarm clock would go off, after a night of twisting and turning, feeling like it was Christmas morning. There were no presents, no breakfast in bed, no Christmas tree and I had to get up way to early. So after the last few years spending my birthday in neglecting bliss I was pleasantly surprised by this feeling.
Looking at all the thoughtful gifts I received, I realised how lucky I am to have met these wonderful people. Though I don’t know most of them for a long time, or that good for that matters, they took a succesful attempt to celebrate my birthday with me. The first one without my family.
Most of these people I know for less than 3 months. With some of them I will keep in touch, some of them I will speak sporadically on Facebook. But the thing that counts is that I had an amazing summer with all of them. Joking, dancing, drinking, and most of all hard working. They say friends come and go, but that true friends will leave footprints. Like I said before, I do not know if I will see many of them anytime soon, but they certainly left a trace, a memory.
Bref, I had a really nice birthday, against all odds. The weather was good, the food was even better and my company was the best.
Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes and who knows where I will celebrate my birthday next year… or with who.
