Quite some time without any news. I’ve written a lot on paper, but didn’t have the time to post it here. Meanwhile my life has turned 360 degrees.
My official depart from Paris was set on the 27th of February. After celebrating Carnaval back home, I left for Paris again. This time to arrange the last details and of course for a proper farewell. It was unfortunate that I couldn’t arrange everything at once, so fortunately I have to go back in a few weeks to wrap things up for real.
Back home I got a warm welcome from friends and family. The messages they send me before departure were heartwarming. They wished me a safe trip and were anxious to see me. But I was also sad for leaving my other friends behind. I count myself lucky to have met such wonderful and real friends, as well as in Paris as in the Netherlands.
The coming home part was nice, but not without some obstacles and remarkable observations. More about that in a following post.
For now, Au revoir Paris. Au revoir means till we see each other again. And that is exactly what is going to happen. This isn’t going to be the last time I will be in Paris. Not just for the lifelong friends I made there (who maybe won’t even be here in a few years), but also for the city. Cause you can fall in love with a city. But this is the au revoir to my previous life. My head is full of mental pictures. I will miss the gôuter time at work with my colleagues and madame Folliot. Eating free, but passed its perishable date, food for apéritif, soirées in the cottage, coffees in cafes, picnics in parks and just wandering about the Parisian streets.
My dear friends, We’ll always have Paris…

It’s all about Mme Folliot… Tu ne m’avais pas dit que tu partais ! Tu manques Dewe
